Overview
ACR offers recorded lectures online for imaging professionals to easily access and review at their convenience. Presenting these enduring lectures online allows them to be available to more people over time. Each lecture or lecture series has been designed to address educational gaps and needs related to the field of radiology. A variety of didactic and interactive techniques with images and demonstrations are used to enhance learning of new knowledge and to improve competency in radiology practice. After completing the lecture(s), learners may claim CME credits by achieving a minimum performance score of 80% on a 5-item posttest.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of these two activities, the participant will:
- Recognize saphenous vein clot, the role of compression and calf thrombi.
- Identify deep vein thrombosis, and occult malignancy.
- List terminology and treatment.
- Explain deep vein thrombosis vs. Pulmonary embolism and the risk factors.
- Demonstrate virchow's triad.
- Review venous sonography and imaging compression.
- Perform a clinical presentation.
- Explain pathophysiology, anatomy of the superficial venous system and technique / protocol.
- Perform a successful upper and lower extremity venous examination.
- Explain the roles of compression ultrasound, color Doppler, and spectral Doppler ultrasound in making the diagnosis of DVT.
- Recognize the main pitfalls in venous extremity ultrasound.
